 The Beastie Boys are trying to get themselves right as we head on out this century by apologizing to the Gay and Lesbian community. They sent a letter to 'Time Out New York' magazine in which they acknowledged that early on in their careers when they released the landmark LP 'Licensed To Ill', they were both ignorant and offensive. They let it be known that they have grown over the years and that there was no excuse for their homophobia and stupidity. For folks who don't know, the original title of their LP was going to be 'Don't Be A Faggot'. Now if we can get all other artist to apologize for calling women 'bitches' in their songs and if we could get all our ignorant brothas and sistas to apologize for calling each other 'Nigga' in their songs we'll have a clean slate. As for the Beasties, they are about to drop their new double LP called 'The Sounds Of Science'. |
